Up another learning curve: online surveys

Well, me and my big mouth.  Or rather my fingers working overtime, as I
found them entering into the spirit of Alex’s Army by volunteering me to
help.  What for?  Well, that exciting project where Mark Austin and Mark
Call will be interviewing us for their studentsofalex.com ebook and audios.

I’m helping them with the questionnaire we will all complete before they
call us for our interviews.  Once they see where our passions, strengths,
weaknesses, challenges and experiences are, the content of the
interviews will naturally follow.

So, it’s another time for going up yet another (steep) learning curve.
Online surveys.  We’re using surveymonkey.com so if anyone has any handy tips, they will be most welcome.  (For example, I haven’t worked out how to put the introductory blurb in without it coming up as Q1.)

If you’re yet to sign up to be involved, get yourself over to http://missioninternetmarketing.com/blog/have-you-signed-up-to-be-interviewed-for-studentsofalexcom/
now.

It’s going to be a great opportunity to promote yourself, your blog and both current and future products.

    Hi Valerie,

I had one of those doubting moments this morning and posted a comment over on Gary´s blog.

My semi whine was over a lack of traffic to my blog even though I´m putting into practice everything that Alex is teaching us.

Any way to cut a long story short after he gave me a few ideas to hopefully rectify the problem he said I really needed an avatar to personalize my comments.

Before he put me in touch with you I had no idea at all how to put one up, let alone where to look for one.

So this is just a quick thankyou for making a very useful post on this topic.

    Regards,

    Paull

    Hey Valerie

I hope all is well with, haven’ heard from you a while, but yeah I look forward to this survey, will it be in the format of an online form, a verbal interview or possibly an video interview on similar lines to a chat show?

    Best Regards

    Hi Val

Well done for offering your help - sometimes it’s the best way to learn. If you jump off the edge you have to fly (or crash!) and I’m sure that I know which one you will do1

I’ve still got to get going with my video but I’m sure that my learning curve with that will take me in the right direction.

I’ve just spent some time helping my daughter get her wordpress blog going - just need to move it over to her own website now.

I have offered myself for interview, so no doubt we’ll have some contact there.

    Hi Valz,

I knew you were busy with this. It’s great that you have offered the guys your expertise with setting up the questions. Coz seriously Mark Austin may be Mr Smarty Pants when it comes to techie stuff but I knew the young fella ;-) was gonna need professional help with this component of it - and here you are with all these wonderful qualifications that allows you to take a key role in the production of the e-book. That’s the symbiotic effect of the F500. There is always a ‘gun for hire,’ somewhere.

Looking forward to answering the questions - er, just leave about 6 pages at the end of the book for the loquacious one, will you?

    Gary

PS: Can you make sure you and all your visitors vote for Alex at my poll. Three people have said they hate him. Dopes huh?

    Hi Valerie

thanks for reminding about the interview. So many things to think about now. Keeping the blog alive, vistiting other blogs, videos?..

Maybe too late for the video. But I will go there and check on my mini tripp around students blogs.

    Best wishes

Fantastic work, im really pleased with it. I can’t thank you enough for your time and effort, the end result far exceeds what Mark and I could have come with.

I haven’t spoken to Mark yet but hope to today so I will be in touch soon!

    Hi Valerie

I haven’t seen you around for a while, but I guess you are very busy with the interviews.

I must get my questionnaire filled in - I started it the day I got it, but was too tired to finish.

I couldn’t find a way to save it so put the comments I had made into Word to repaste later. I’ll really try to get this finished today.

Did you hear Alex’s session no 6 last night? If not then Gary Simpson has a great precis of what Alex said.

One of the things he was saying was to tell our story to others and this video project will be a great way of doing that. So well done on being involved.

I’ve just completed a post where I let you know a little bit more about me and it would be great if you would have a read and comment on what I’ve put there.

Don’t forget to read the whole post! So I’m looking forward to your comments and don’t work too hard on this!

    Take care.

    Hilary
